Ambassador Program
This year we are launching a new component to the Kyle’s Kamp Memorial Day Baseball Tournament. At Kyle’s Kamp we want to do more than just raise funds we also want to raise awareness and connect with children who are currently dealing with cancer. We have developed an Ambassador Program that will allow teams to get to know a patient who is on the journey battling childhood cancer. The Children’s National staff has identified children who are willing and eager to participate in the Ambassador program. Our goal is to help put a name, a face, a personal story to all our little heroes who are battling childhood cancers. Our ambassadors are kids that love to play, have hopes and dreams and are really a lot like all the kids that are playing baseball in the tournament. We want this experience to become more personal, more meaningful for our baseball team participants.
The commitment to the Ambassador program is simple. We ask that you commit to do a few things from the list below. If your Team Ambassador has given you permission to contact them we hope you will. They are so excited about the Kyle’s Kamp Tournament and want to cheer on the teams.
Here are a few ways that you can make your Ambassador feel like a part of the team:
· Write them a card and have the whole team sign it!
· Sign a team jersey and send it to your ambassador
· Send them an email
. Send them a Gift Basket
· Invite them to a practice or game
· Tell them your team colors so they can sport them on May 19
· Send them a video from your practice—just wave at the camera and say hi
We hope you will consider doing many of the activities we suggested because the Team Ambassadors are really looking forward to hearing from you and they need your support!
